Even death has a heart.
The film, based on the beloved number one New York Times bestseller, tells the story of Liesel, an extraordinary and courageous young girl sent to live with a foster family in World War II Germany. The Book Thief is a unique film in that the story line is narrated by death, preying but having sympathy on those that he watches.

The voice of Death was beautifully narrated throughout The Book Thief. Fans had major concerns over how this was to be imagined as everyone had their own interpretation and high expectations. We pulled the key quotes, without giving much away, and animated them into visually poetic vignettes.
Little Libraries Collaboration
Little Libraries are a gathering place where people stop by to “take a book, return a book”. It's a box, usually in a unique housing representing a schoolhouse, full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. You can, too!
We created two new little libraries uniquely themed to reflect the story of the movie. It was a lot of fun creating this really unique project that we hope will not only encourage people to see the movie but also give something to local communities and get more people reading.
To promote The Book Thief movie we worked with 20th Century Fox to support a movement we're all really inspired by – little free libraries. These libraries are setup as a free resource for local communities where anyone can simply 'take a book and leave a book'
